Dr. Maggie Detrick was born in the small-town of Mason City, IL. She was relocated to Huntsville, AL as a junior in High School. She graduated from Virgil I. Grissom High School in 2011 and from there attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science in 2017.
After obtaining her bachelor’s degree, she attended Life University in Atlanta, GA and enrolled in their Doctor of Chiropractic program. Here she participated in the ICPA club and was consistently on the Dean’s list and President’s list, graduating magna cum laude. To complete her requirements at Life University, for 6 months she interned at a family practice where she cared for families, the elderly, children, infants, and pregnant women. Here Dr. Maggie further perfected her chiropractic analysis, communication, and problem-solving skills. She focuses on the Diversified Full Spine chiropractic technique, as well as Activator Technique.
Dr. Maggie is an active member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and is finishing the extensive Certification by the Academy Council of Pediatrics, CACCP. This certification is a comprehensive 48 credit program consisting of 19 courses and 200+ hours of learning. It is designed to expand professional ability in adjusting techniques, evaluation, and assessment of various stages of development: from pregnancy, birth, infancy, and throughout childhood.
She is also trained and certified in the Webster Technique. This technique is a specific chiropractic technique that can help to correct imbalances as well as pelvic dysfunction in pregnant women, resulting in probable relief of pain and helping baby be in the best position for labor and delivery.
In her free time, Dr. Maggie enjoys reading, hiking, biking, dancing, scrapbooking, weightlifting, and family time.
