Ambassador Program

The Ambassador’s annual goal is to increase the retention rate of new and existing members by conducting a program of goodwill member contacts:  Reinforcing the benefits of Chamber membership, increasing members’ knowledge about programs and services of the Walton County Chamber of Commerce, and keeping the channels of communications open between the membership and the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

  • A group of knowledgeable volunteers serving in a year-round effort as the customer service representatives of the Walton County Chamber of Commerce, and acting as a conduit between the Chamber and its existing and new members.
  • Ambassadors aid the Chamber with membership retention by making a personal call to assigned members and maintaining communication with them throughout the year via phone calls, email, visits, etc.  Ambassadors encourage members to become involved in the Chamber, and assist members in learning more about the Chamber.  It is important for the Ambassador to be familiar with the 2017 Business Plan. Ambassadors will inform and receive feedback on Chamber activities and programs.
  • Additional activities include serving, participating, attending and volunteering at various meetings and events such as Ribbon Cuttings, Coffee Connections, Annual Golf Tournament, Casino Night & Auction, Business & Community Expo and Annual Meeting.

The Ambassadors are exclusively limited to men and women whose companies are members in good standing of the Walton County Chamber of Commerce.

The candidate’s current position should involve significant sales, public relations or equivalent public exposure, and allow freedom to devote time necessary to contribute to and participate actively in Ambassador goals and activities.

  • Enhanced career development/networking
  • Increased exposure for your business
  • Expanded base of contacts and clients
  • Recognition for you and your firm

The following are activities that must be met and maintained to retain active Ambassador program participation.

  • Attendance at Ambassador Monthly Meetings
  • Commitment to contact the assigned members each month
  • Maintain communication with assigned members throughout the year
  • Mentor new members as assigned
  • Recruit/Refer new members
  • Represent yourself as a Chamber Ambassador Volunteer
  • Assist in membership renewals and retention
  • Wear name badge furnished by the chamber for identification as a Chamber Ambassador Volunteer
  • Participate in Chamber activities
  • Complete monthly point sheet and return to the chamber office by the 5th (or next business day) of the following month

  • All ambassadors will serve a 2 year term, replaced only by written resignation or inactivity in the Walton County Chamber of Commerce.
  • Once a term ends or a resignation accepted, he/she will be replaced from a list of members who have expressed interest in becoming a member of the Chamber Ambassadors.
  • The Ambassador meetings shall be kept confidential.
  • An Ambassador does not have the authority to speak on the Chamber’s behalf regarding any issues.
